General Notes Needs Columns

The General Note tool does not support the ability to break the notes out across columns like the Keynote Legend tool does. This would help tremendously in notes/text formatting.

We constantly are wishing for columns in the General Note tool. Also wish you could tab, use font characteristics like bold or italic, sub numbering, and tables like in work sheets. When we do code references there is always a need for tables and faking it is a pain.

i second this again - why do we have the ability in keynotes but not general notes!

How many times do we have to ask for a text column option for it to get added as a tool in Vectorworks?

Column breaks for General Notes would be very helpful, particularly now that many of our drawings are produced at A3 size.

So I'm looking at the OIP for a General Note in 2022

 

There is a "# of columns" dropdown!

...but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Am i missing something?

 

I figured it out.

I had my planting notes all as on big single note so it wouldn't break across columns.

 

 

 

 

Now my question is:

Are we only able to have equal length columns?

I want my notes to be a specific length and for overflow to fill the next column.
