Patrick Winkler
This is a little script to create Spirals. Excepts the 'PopUp'- and the 'Switch Case'-Node all nodes are native. I also created two wrappers: -'GetPointsOnCircle' -'DegreeToRadiant' reagards Patrick Edited January 7, 2016 by Patrick Winkler Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Nice, thanks for the additional nodes. Another way to make a spring is to use the sweep node. See attached Quote Link to comment
Patrick Winkler
thanks Alan, I had no idea that the sweep node is that mighty. The profile input (circle and locus) looks really abstract to me, I try understand the mechanism behind it. regards Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Hi, Its a pretty simple item, as with normal sweeping the sweep looks for a centre and it is the node, so all you have to do is to move the node out and you get a bigger radius and the offset just does what it says. Have a look at the sweep items in this post. https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=221312#Post221312 In the VW file you can adjust the setting to obtain different shaped springs by just changing the sweep input. STERNontwerp
I never thought of a shell as a spiral. But that is the result of entering the variables : 1, 10, 1, 10, 30. Quote Link to comment
