Clive Abben
I can not get my roofs to render in 3d. I create the walls and they are fine and when I create the roof it shows up in plan but not in 3d. I have created 100s of roofs with no problems and this seems to have happened only after I installed the last service pack. I exported the file to VW 2015 and the roofs appear perfectly? mike m oz
Clive, I've fallen into a similar trap. You need to edit the Roof Style and give the component a fill. If it is an unstyled Roof Face or Roof object select and edit the component from the Object Info Palette (OIP) and give it a fill. Quote Link to comment
Clive Abben
Thanks for that, I edited the component and it was set to no fill, but when I put class texture in it still did not show? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
You need to go to the Render tab of the OIP and nominate that texture for the Top surface of the Roof Face or Roof object. Quote Link to comment
Clive Abben
Ive tried that, using the same texture nominated as class texture and picking out from the texture drop down list but still no luck! Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Can you paste that roof into a file and post it here so it can be looked at. Quote Link to comment
Clive Abben
I pasted the roof onto a black document and it came up fine! There must be something wrong with my settings in that document but I cant seem to find anything. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Could it be that the roof component class is invisible or set to grey. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
There is an issue that I listed and if I recall correctly when you rotate the roof it disappears so you turn off that class and hit "0" for top plan and turn roof class on again then hit "1" to rotate it appeared. Hasn't happen in a while but I sent it in to tech support Sydney and it was passed on. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Alan, that problem happens when the roof component doesn't have a fill. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
I has a similar issue just now. I can select the invisible roof which will show up as an outline. To get it to appear the only thing I did was to change the fill colour in the attributes pallets to anything other than selected and the roof instantly appeared with all the Textures. Strange behaviour. Edited January 10, 2016 by Alan Woodwell Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Alan - Just curious. At lower left is a gray shape, apparently on the ground plane. Is that the plan projection or source object of the pad for the pool? Location looks strange. -B Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Yes it is, as this is works in progress I tend to move things 10,000m away for reference and that's what you are seeing. Typical Alts & Additions. Edited January 10, 2016 by Alan Woodwell Quote Link to comment
