djobbins
Hey, I'm running 2016. I've had no problem with this in the past, but all day I have not been able to get my theatrical lighting dixtures (in spotlight) to render out in either fast or final renderworks. In Open GL they render fine, and if I just drop in a lighting object it works fine. However, spotlight fixture+renderworks=no visible light. I had no problem with this yesterday, trying to figure out what settings I may have changed? Thanks Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Couple things to check: 1. Check the Visibility Palette to make sure the lights are turned on. 2. Especially if the symbols are from an older version of VW, make sure that the Default Instrument Texture is present in the resource browser and applied to the body parts of the instrument. hth mk Quote Link to comment
djobbins
Sorry, I should have spoken more clearly. The lighting fixtures show up fine, but no light comes out of them. I've tried it in multiple files, including one super minimal one I made just to test (only a light, and a surface to light nothing else). Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted December 21, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 21, 2015 Are you using stock instruments or custom instruments. The most common problem is that the geometry of the instrument symbol does not have the correct texture applied. The texture must NOT have the option to cast shadows checked. If you are still using the "Default Instrument Texture" you can try importing a fresh copy from the resource file and see if that solves the issue. Quote Link to comment
