bcd Posted December 18, 2015 Share Posted December 18, 2015 Many of these tools and features fall under the umbrella of annotating and conveying visual data about the 3d environment rather than a 2d sheet. I can see the benefits of this as well as some difficulties, clutter being one serious one. To be automated every significant datum/length/inclination/radius ... should be available. Perhaps even weight, cost, Uvalue, luminosity. Perhaps perhaps even deflection, % load capacity, carbon footprint, heatloss, headloss... I think the key to making this all work is twofold: 1) assembling and validating and affixing the data 2.1) designing an intuitive way to expose the data that the user needs when the user needs it - and 2.2)the option to make it stick (either in the model or exported to another format eg a component shop drawing or a line item on a purchase order, a 3d snapshot for a sound engineer etc. large asks but VW is built on greatness Quote Link to comment
