AlanW
Better late then never. Draw a cube and use deform tool on the top and taper solid mode. Rotate the top and you get a pyramid. rotate it further and you get a tent. Quote Link to comment

Hi Mrs. Farrell. I was sondering if you could somehow rescue the Marionette? I´m trying to build an intelligent object in the form of a truncated pyramid and I´m really struggling with the solid modelling and the construction planes. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dan Hoffman
Just came across this thread - maybe with a tag @Marissa Farrell will see this and perhaps still has this Marionette saved somewhere? (although the Multiple Extrude approach mentioned earlier is also a nice solution) Quote Link to comment
The Cantor
I just needed a solution to this. I came up with: extrude a square to needed height. Go to front elevation. Make a shape to use to slice one side of the cube through the top center and one of the bottom corners. Extrude that shape, duplicate 3 times and place so they all slice through the center top point of the cube and the bottom corners. Use solid subtraction 4 times, and done. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
I have found the easiest way to make a 3D pyramid shape is with a tapered extrusion on a 2D rectangle. Creating a Tapered Extrude Quote Link to comment
line-weight
I only discovered the "taper face" tool a couple of years ago despite having used VW for about 20 years. I've become a fan of it for this kind of thing. Screen Recording 2022-10-08 at 17.23.41.mov 1 1 Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I am also a big fan of taper face tool. I wanted to write exactly the same .... I just wanted to test it first now, if it really works in that case. But you were faster 🙂 Maybe not the fastest way but for me the most comfortable and enjoying way.
