barkest
Hi, With VW2015 it still only imports Su 2014 and it never got updated to import Su 2015. With VW2016 will be see an update to import Su2016 as well as the current Su2015? thanks Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 23, 2015 Vectorworks 2016 can currently import SKP 2015 format files, I have not seen any official dates for SKP 2016 but normally these are added via service packs as soon as possible. I'll check to see if Vectorworks 2015 is getting any more SKP import updates in its last service pack though, with the non-latest version it isn't always guaranteed that it will. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 23, 2015 Sorry, I meant any official dates about when we would support Skp 2016, not dates referring to Skp 2016s release date. Quote Link to comment
barkest
ah ok - my fault as well would you say that the current workflow is set in stone as there are certainly changes that could improve it? it has been a brilliant addition ever since it was added in 2015 and there are so many positives with it. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 23, 2015 I would not be surprised to see more changes, a frequent request has been SKP export as well, I don't know what the legal hurdles are at the moment (Often its legal/bureaucratic limitations when it comes to import/export formats that delay things rather than technical limitations) I have requested quite a few myself to make interoperability easier. barkest
The obvious change is to assign a layer and a class on import rather than using the file name and su layers which always have to be changed. Quote Link to comment
barkest
collada works fine. But a .obj export would be great for many other apps Edited November 23, 2015 by barkest Quote Link to comment
