Wall Styles

I am using VW2016. I want to save a wall style to my user folder. However, wall styles are not listed? Suggestions?

Wall styles are in the resource browser. You can export to a "library" vectorworks file or include it in a template file.

When I go to libraries Defaults, I can select walls-slab- roof- textures etc. However there are no wall styles listed?

I think I see what you're asking.

Try this.

Create the wall you want in a blank file. Save that file.

Move it to ~/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks/2016/Libraries/Defaults/Walls~Slabs~Roofs/Metric .

On a Mac you have to use the Finder "Go" menu and hold down the option key to see the Library folder.

Windows will probably let you save the folder directly there.

Once that .vwx file containing that resource is in that folder it will show up as a default wall style in all new drawings.

I believe there are two Defaults folders. One for users and one that is stock content. So the user folder (Library/Application Support/Vectorworks…) will be empty until you put something in it.

Just noticed that you are using 2012. I don't think that changes anything. The UI is a little different in 2016.

Especially noticeable w/ Spotlight resources.
