RugoseCone
Has anyone here had any experience using Vectorworks 10 on Mac OS 8.6? I'm running a 450 Mhz G4 PowerMac with 192meg of RAM and OS 8.6. Will VW 10 run on my machine and any idea of how well? Thanks! RC [ 04-15-2003, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: RugoseCone ] Quote Link to comment
Guest
We test VW 10 with OS 8.6 and it works just as well as OS 9. The only problems I've seen are display issues related to the OS. The same display issues are apparent in previous versions of VW as well. Quote Link to comment
RugoseCone
Darn! Not the answer I was hoping for. I wanted the boss to buy me a new rig... Thank you Katie! RC Quote Link to comment
Guest
Sorry ! You can tell your boss that VW is a carbonized application. The carbon lib extension is optimized for OS 9.2 - even though it still runs on OS 8.6. You may find the program slightly more stable under OS 9 than OS 8. Eventually, you are going to run into limitations as software slowly starts weeding out support for OS 8. Quote Link to comment
RGyori
I also use OS 8.6 and VWA 10.1 without apparent difficulty. With that said, the fact that future versions of VW will not support OS 8.6 (or OS 9.xx???-am I right Katie?) says all that there is to say. I am planning to move on to a "genuine" G4 and OS 10 later this year. Perhaps some day I'll catch up with my son. Go for it and good luck! Quote Link to comment
