Marionette

Hi, trying to get the hang of marionette and wonder if others are having the same issue that if I move a block it separates all the links to some items, They show linked when moving but are not linked when stop moving the block.????

Also unwrapping seems to pull it apart also.

I must be doing something wrong as I am new to this.

There is a way to specify the ground plane, I believe you just need to run the 2D poly/whatnot though a "Set PRefID to Ground" node from the Object Info node set.

I think you just run the 2D geometry through this before other 3D operations or converting any of it to polylines and it will work. It is used in this example object:

Alan, some nodes end up in Layer plane and some end up in Screen plane. If you are trying to create 2D objects I would suggest either the Set PrefID to Ground node that Jim mentioned, or just run your definitions in Top/Plan view. If you want to still see you definition in 3D I would also recommend selecting all the nodes in the definition and making sure they are all in the same Plane Mode.

Not designed to be downloadable, but the reference can be found here:

As for the "Where to learn" part, I hope that I can create a huge repository of Marionette training in the future. This is an insanely powerful tool with applications all over the spectrum and the more noise that is made about us providing more training, the more likely I will be approved and allotted time to create it:
