simbob
It's quite annoying when, having set up a view to render, you realize something is selected and has an orange outline. You then need to exit the view to deselect (click off the drawing objects) and then go back to the view. Can you de-select all items at the touch of a button? Quote Link to comment
barkest
Deselect - press x twice or esc Edited September 24, 2015 by barkest Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Don't you just hold the shift key down to select more items or hold the shift key down to de-select less items. Each item you select while holding down the shift key either adds or subtracts form your selection group. Edited September 24, 2015 by Alan Woodwell Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 24, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 24, 2015 The op did not say what tool he currently had active. ^ This is the important bit. Shift-click would only be useful if selection was already active. Otherwise, X-X or ESC is the best option. Quote Link to comment

I think this is a Situation where X + X should work. I was used to click in free space to deselect everything, which works as long there is a free space without objects. A little comfort may be that you can can do this After you rendered a View Without destroying the Rendering, if you forgot it before. (In most cases ?) Quote Link to comment
