While there are some limitations, the Door & Window PIO's seem to be evolving nicely. I think to improve workflow & especially to aid in BIM design I believe having the ability to select a Door or Window that is fitted in a wall then change these PIO's to Symbols would make a great addition.
Presently in SD & DD we use these Door & Window PIO's as placeholders moving and resizing as required. But once a project moves along, we often replace these PIO's with Symbols with greater or lesser information in the Data Field. This means selecting each PIO individually, deleting it and adding a Symbol to replace it. I know the alternative is to use the a combination of the Magic Wand & Eyedropper Tools, or use Symbols at the start; both techniques we use.
My wish list idea is to have Doors & Windows PIOs, that have been inserted into a wall, have the ability to be replaced by a Symbol, similar to the way that one may replace a Symbol placed in a wall with another Symbol in the OIP.
