zoomer 1,090 Posted June 5, 2016 I found my workaround to avoid the Material Duplicates and Material Renaming when assigning Materials by Class. By simply miss-using Classes to use Material Names and separate architectural Geometry by Materials only, like : Class : M_CONCRETE Class : M_PAINT_WHITE Class : M_STEEL_BRUSHED So a Wall Component from concrete will uses the same Class : M_CONCRETE like the Slab Component or the Column Component. This isn't what Classes are thought of and not BIM-ish at all, but it works reasonably well for me, with an additional set of Container Classes for Arch like Walls/Doors/Stairs/... to control Visibilities : Class : 0_SYMBOLS Class : A_WALLS Class : A_SLABS Class : A_COLUMNS This way I will no more get any Duplicates from my RW Materials and will even get the Materials with the (nearly*) correct Name into C4D. Of course VW still adds a "class " prefix to my (Class) Material NAMES, which prevents Material Names Readability in C4D Material Browser. Quote Share this post Link to post
