C. Andrew Dunning
I'm doing a little housekeeping in SoftGoods 2 and would love some input. Some users want the detail in the "Drape" and "Scrim" Textures. Some want less. Some want faster rendering times. Is there a Texture "recipe" for either of those that any of you have found (and, would be willing to share) that strikes a reasonable balance between the 3 "wants?" The one stipulation is that "recipes" would need to use only internal shaders (no images). Thanks. Quote Link to comment
theatre4jc
This may be something that is already there and I just haven't figured it out yet...Is there a way to do a Cyc or painted drop that is flat with no pleats? Currently I make the pleat size to .1" which is the smallest it allows. I still prefer using the Soft Goods tool over anything else for putting in these elements. If it is not possible to natively make it 100% flat without any pleats, I personally would love to see that implemented. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Is there a way to do a Cyc or painted drop that is flat with no pleats? Absolutely! Look for the "Simple 3D" toggle about half-way down the OIP. That's there to meet your exact need. Regards - Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
For those of you following this thread... Here is a quick image of the SoftGoods 2 Textures in-use prior to today: [img:center]http://www.landrudesign.com/Downloads/TechBoard/SG_Demo_Simple_2015-Old.jpg[/img] FQRW Rendering time in VW2015: 6:07 And, below are images of the same geometry after a fair amount of refinement. These images show the Textures that are generated by today's updates of SoftGoods 2, the VideoScreen 4 tools, and the Staging ToolSet tools.
