+1. An extension of this would be an option to display the OIP text in a text box next to the 2D/3D loci on the drawing -or- hide the text and have it it a smartcursor cue as you describe.

Tangentially related- I have previously wishlisted wanting the ability to make any Class be a 'non-plot' layer, or at least make the deceptively named 'NonPlot' class actually not print.

That way you could leave notes to yourself or others that could be always be visible but wouldn't plot.

I like the idea too. In the meantime one way to label reference loci is to select the loci, go to the Data tab in the OIP and give it a description in the "Name" field. Then when you select the loci later the name appears at the very bottom of the OIP even when you're still on the Shape tab.

Not quite as snazzy as hovering over the loci, but works nonetheless. :)

(I would also like to be able to assign a symbol to a locus so it can be visually represented at times.)

Not exactly what you requested, but there is a script in this thread

https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=157918#Post157918

that will replace a loci with a circle. It would be relatively easy to switch it to use a symbol instead. Would that be good enough?
