Question

When you create walls and apply textures to those walls in the set up, then if you want to add a different texture to a specific wall, you change the mode from 'Component' to 'Object', but all textures are stripped out completely.

Surely it would make more sense to leave any existing textures as is so you don't have to reconfigure all of them, just the one you want to change - as it's usually just one surface and not all. Just a thought!

This happens because By Object and By Component keep their own separate texture settings separate from one another.

You'll notice that if you map left/right/edges of a wall in By object mode, then switch to By Component, even if you alter the component's textures after that, switching back to By Object retains your original texture settings.

If the wall has a style before being changed to By Component, then it will automatically take on the component textures of that style rather than just resetting as it does when using By Component on an unstyled wall or a style with no textures applied.
