Wall Width in Mode Bar

Ozzie

Question

I use the wall tool a lot and to see what the overall width of a wall is going to be prior to drawing it if I am correct you have go into Preferences to see it

I know real estate on the bar is tight but could the wall width be displayed in the Mode Bar if that is what you call it?

Would this be mostly/only useful for unstyled walls? As in, should it grey out when a specific wall style is already selected? I wouldn't think you would want to alter the width of styled walls without specific control over which components you were changing the width of.

+1 to see wall width

and

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++1

to separate overall width and height settings from wall style

(into a width and height setting tag)

=>

1.

wall styles - components, materials, ...

2.

wall height tag - Top/bottom boundary by value, Story levels, ..

3.

wall width tag - overall wall width obvious for single component walls,

fixed width components and one flexible component to adjust width.

(F.e. masonry or concrete core adjustable, plaster or insulation fixed)

If you enhance walls like this,

a typical buildings walls may have 5 of each tags in resource browser.

As it is now you will have 5x5x5 = 125 wall styles !
