Assigning different line types to a class in different viewports

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm creating an object (high level canopy) that needs to be dotted on the plan viewport, but solid on the ceiling plan viewport. Is there an easier way or doing this without simply duplicating the item and putting it on different classes?

I believe you are looking for Viewport Class Overrides, which let you alter the class attributes only within one or a selection of viewports:

http://app-help.vectorworks.net/2015/NNA/eng/index.htm#t=VW2015_Guide%2FViewports%2FChanging_the_Class_Properties_of_Sheet_Layer_or_Design_Layer.htm

The above covers the basics I believe, if it doesn't make sense let me know and I can provide an example.

If you are looking at a 3D object you can (as I have just found out) convert the object to an Auto Hybrid and set the cutting plane to 0, then in top plan mode you only see the 2d section which you can control in the viewport class option.
