Nemetschek North America Offers VectorWorks and Industry Series Training CDs

Columbia, Maryland (December 18, 2001)? Nemetschek North America announced today that it is developing training CDs for VectorWorks and its Industry Series. Produced for Nemetschek North America by In Medias Res, a Canadian-based training/consulting company, the training CDs cover basic as well as advanced topics in VectorWorks, RenderWorks, ARCHITECT, LANDMARK, SPOTLIGHT, and MECHANICAL. In addition, each CD will offer a number of hands- on exercises to reinforce the concepts of the lesson. The VectorWorks training CDs are currently available, while the Industry Series training CDs are still in development.

The VectorWorks CD addresses introductory concepts of the interface, like palettes, the mode bar, data display bar, and panning and zooming. It also demonstrates drawing and editing 2D objects, measurement and annotation, basic 3D modeling, file organization, and symbols. A second CD contains more complex VectorWorks topics such as the creating and editing walls, intermediate 3D modeling including hybrid objects and working planes, hatches, creating scripts, worksheets and databases, setting up a drawing system and workgroup referencing.

On the RenderWorks training CD, users will find information on VectorWorks preferences, lighting, and rendering. The CD also explains how to use RenderWorks textures including the textures library, texture mapping, and creating new textures.

The ARCHITECT training CD explains schematic design and how to set up a drawing file. Users will learn how to draw within ARCHITECT standards, draw graphics, manage project information, create presentation drawings, and work with custom standards.

SPOTLIGHT begins with an introduction and then delves into lighting positions, lighting instruments, accessories, and stage objects. It also addresses 3D visualization and paperwork, such as generating schedules and inventory reports.

For landscape and site designers, LANDMARK demonstrates how to create a site model and conduct site analysis. It covers the topics of site design, planting plans, irrigation layout, production drafting, drawing graphics and managing project information.

The newly introduced MECHANICAL will also have its own training CD and it is expected to be released sometime after the launch of the product. For further information regarding the training CDs, call 888-646-4223 or visit our website at www.nemetschek.net/support/trainingcd
