Hi there,

I am new to Vectorworks BIM. Is there any feature similar to clash detection in Revit in VW? Or i need to export it to IFC object and need a 3rd-party software to run the test. TQ.

Hey There,

You are correct, you will need to export via IFC. We typically suggest Solibri, either the free version - Solibri Model Viewer or the more "industrial strength" version - Solibri Model Checker. Solibri is cross-platform.

Thanks for your advice. Will there be any data lost either model from VW or Revit since my other consultants are using Revit.

your design consultants may encounter troubles while importing your vw ifc export into revit in case you've used boolean operations (aec > fit walls to objects).

the import of ifc data from revit may be offset in your vw file - advise them to use the gpl (open source) ifc translator for revit, not the native one from autodesk, and define the model origin exactly.
