Setting Dim Text Style...how

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to get my dimension text to match my note text.

I've set a text style for my general notes, but everytime that I place a dimension, I have to go back to the Info Palette to change the completed dimension from Un-texted to Dimension 12 pt within the Text Style selection box, in order to have the note text match the dimension text.

Any Ideas,

Thank you,

AB

Another way to think about is to create your own Dimension Standard. Not only does this allow you to control the slash size, slash thinckness, but you can also choose the Text Style for the dimensions. If you set this as your default dimension you will not have to worry about the dim standard or the text style any more.

I believe that I may or maynot know how to set-up a dimension standard and what the step-by-steps are.

I can't set a standard for text, but I don't believe that I see anything specifically for dimension standards, which locks a text style to the dimension used.

That problem that I currently am having is that everytime that I place a dimension, I have to edit it from the Object Info Palette to match the text notes.

I'm sure its something very obvious and simple. As with text (Format Text), there doesn't seem to be a Format Dimensions dialog box.

Thank you,

AB

I believe that I figured-out how to set a dimension style.

It is accomplished by: Dim Std.>Custom Standards>Edit Custom Dimension Standard dialog box>Text Style selection box, once a Text Style has been developed, which is shown in the Vectorworks Architect tutorial book.

i can't think of a way, but you can change them all later, easily, by using the Select Similar tool to select the dimensions, then box then all together.
