Blissab
Hello Everyone, I'm trying to get my dimension text to match my note text. I've set a text style for my general notes, but everytime that I place a dimension, I have to go back to the Info Palette to change the completed dimension from Un-texted to Dimension 12 pt within the Text Style selection box, in order to have the note text match the dimension text. Any Ideas, Thank you, AB Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
Dimension follow the text style settings set in the Text menu at the top of the screen.......don't know if it helps though?! Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Don't have anything selected on the screen, then set your dimension style and should work, or right click on the dimension and select create similar objects, then this should also create the same dimension style. Quote Link to comment
Blissab
Thank you, Alan...I'll try what you have suggested. AB Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Another way to think about is to create your own Dimension Standard. Not only does this allow you to control the slash size, slash thinckness, but you can also choose the Text Style for the dimensions. If you set this as your default dimension you will not have to worry about the dim standard or the text style any more. Quote Link to comment
Blissab
I believe that I may or maynot know how to set-up a dimension standard and what the step-by-steps are. I can't set a standard for text, but I don't believe that I see anything specifically for dimension standards, which locks a text style to the dimension used. That problem that I currently am having is that everytime that I place a dimension, I have to edit it from the Object Info Palette to match the text notes. I'm sure its something very obvious and simple. As with text (Format Text), there doesn't seem to be a Format Dimensions dialog box. Thank you, AB Quote Link to comment
Blissab
I believe that I figured-out how to set a dimension style. It is accomplished by: Dim Std.>Custom Standards>Edit Custom Dimension Standard dialog box>Text Style selection box, once a Text Style has been developed, which is shown in the Vectorworks Architect tutorial book. Benjamin Weill
In this vein, is there a way to set a dimension standard that would automatically "box" the text? It's a pain to have to set that each time, but I haven't found a way to make it automatic. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
i can't think of a way, but you can change them all later, easily, by using the Select Similar tool to select the dimensions, then box then all together. http://learn.archoncad.com/2014/11/19923/vectorworks-tip-167-basic-tools-select-similar-objects/ there are other movies for subscribers to my web site: http://learn.archoncad.com/2010/02/3331/beginnercast017-select-similar-tool/ http://learn.archoncad.com/2013/11/15193/cadmovie992-basic-editing-tools-part-2/ Quote Link to comment
