It looks like caustics and a physical camera / renderer with depth of field and maybe vignetting...

Hopefully it means that CineRender's awesome capabilities have been more fully implemented.

Is it September already?

Poor Jim. There is an itch that wants to be scratched.

The image looks like its giving off a caustic effect. Could this be greater rendering control and realism?

Not much longer.

I have been looking at the image all night - and I figured it out. It is a diamond.

VW16 comes with diamonds...it wants to marry us.

Sounds like a plausible scenario...rendering has become so important, sometimes to detriment of the final result. Hopefully the new capabilities won't affect the speed of the renderings.

Cheers

I am convinced that the suspense is worse from my end.

So your choice of revenge is sharing?

VW tried to tell me something today.... though it's not entirely sure what....

I guess the release of VW2016 is imminent. My Service Select account is also showing a VW2016 serial number....

I can't imagine they would release it over the weekend; But I also now see a Vw2016 S/N on my VSS account.

If I remember correctly the last couple years the releases were Tuesday or Wednesday. Usually between the 14th and 17th of September.

My money is on the 15th or 16th.

I don't see a 2016 s/n on my account, but I'm not as cool as Tim or Kevin.

I assumed it would be released this coming Tuesday given past experiences.

It seems there's some code in VW2015 so that it will tell Service Select customers when the new version is available. Its different than the service pack dialog.... and my version is up-to-date. Perhaps adding the VW2016 serial number triggered it....

Not here. Maybe we should start reading Great Expectations to speed it up a little? :)
