Kaare Baekgaard
Modern architecture and design is full of complex organic looking structures, none of which can be modelled with any ease in Vectorworks. The tutorials on YouTube seems to be based on polygon subdivision technology. It may not be as inherently accurate as nurbs, but it looks awesome. I wish there was a way to do the same stuff in Vectorworks. I really want that. Edited April 25, 2015 by Kaare Baekgaard Quote Link to comment
0 Benson Shaw
Kaare - You have proved yourself to be a proficient VWX modeler in posts on this board. Your wish must mean that Vectorworks really does not allow you to achieve what you want to do. So, +1 Could you post a link or two to design visions or completed projects which inspire your wish? 0 Kaare Baekgaard
Thanks Benson. Here are some examples from a quick search on organic architecture – in no particular order: [img:center]http://www.evolo.us/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/housing-skyscraper-0.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://www.pics.al-rebat.com/Pics/Organic%20Architecture%20Modeling/Organic%20Architecture%20Modeling%202.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://img.weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/green-transportation-urban-hub-468x339.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://newshousedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/The-e-volved-table-inspired-by-natural-fluid-patterns-and-naturally-grown-shapes-Timothy-Schreiber-4.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://images.gizmag.com/inline/edag-genesis-printing-cars-in-the-future-43.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ce/cd/13/cecd136d2cc81b6183cd5f985f6f8191.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://www.e-architect.co.uk/images/jpgs/china/hangzhou_store_sakoarchitects170508_03.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://os.typepad.com/my_weblog/images/torre_residential.jpg[/img] Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted April 30, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 30, 2015 Hello Kaare, your wish is our command. As Jim posted earlier we will have subdivision modeling in VW 2016. Also Marionette will ultimately I'm sure enable automation of some of the repetitive shapes like those shown in the renderings. https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=210685#Post210685 Quote Link to comment

Opening my big mouth is what I do best Quote Link to comment
