Outline is preferred to Bounding Box.

As noted elsewhere, wish should also apply to preview during Mirror, Rotate, Move by Points, etc.

If the bounding box is only option for some objects, could we get a key shortcut or selection mode to temporarily enable the bounding box corners as selection points? (this is a low priority wish. very low.)

I have no idea what governs this. It used to be Symbols, groups and other objects with history showed with bounding boxes, but single objects would show with tighter highlighting. Now it seems more arbitrary.

I'll inquire as to if there is a set logic on what does and doesn't highlight this way and put in requests for the tighter highlighting across the board, It works much better. The bounding box is mostly a leftover from before selection highlighting even existed, where active selections just had floating handles around them.
