Site model graphic issues

Recommended Posts

Trips me up all the time.

Looks like you have the Show 3d Grid enabled in the OIP>Site Model Settings>3D Display area. Disable this option to make it disappear.

If enabled in Settings, the tops of the planes poke through the rendered DTM surface when the OIP display is set to mesh or triangles. Their default fill color is black, so they are quite noticeable.

To see them isolated, enter OIP>Site Model Settings:

3D Display Settings>Style = 3D Contours, Enable Show 3D Grid, disable Fill.

Render OGL and use the Flyover Tool to adjust view. It's like the interlocking cardboard dividers in cases of glass bottles.

Do what Benson suggests, but also you can try going to Document Settings > Document Preferences > Display tab and checking the option "Mesh smoothing with crease angle", just leave the default at 70 and see if this doesn't also help in smoothing out your site model a bit
