J. Wallace
Hi I just made up this quick site model to see if some stairs would work on a site...take a look at the weird grid that is display in 3d view? Here is another image showing the 2d view. Source data for this is in 2m contours...Not sure if this is a bug? Edited November 20, 2014 by J. Wallace Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Trips me up all the time. Looks like you have the Show 3d Grid enabled in the OIP>Site Model Settings>3D Display area. Disable this option to make it disappear. If enabled in Settings, the tops of the planes poke through the rendered DTM surface when the OIP display is set to mesh or triangles. Their default fill color is black, so they are quite noticeable. To see them isolated, enter OIP>Site Model Settings: 3D Display Settings>Style = 3D Contours, Enable Show 3D Grid, disable Fill. Render OGL and use the Flyover Tool to adjust view. It's like the interlocking cardboard dividers in cases of glass bottles. -B Edited November 20, 2014 by Benson Shaw Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
Do what Benson suggests, but also you can try going to Document Settings > Document Preferences > Display tab and checking the option "Mesh smoothing with crease angle", just leave the default at 70 and see if this doesn't also help in smoothing out your site model a bit Quote Link to comment
