Damon Design
The former magnifying glass color picker or sampler; allowing you to maneuver over any collection of pixels to sample and add a new color to your file has changed into something I cannot figure out. The magnifying glass tool at the top to sample is gone, there seems to be an eyedropper tool at the bottom that is its replacement and I can get a circle magnifying curser after a few attempts but maneuvering it over a color sample yields nothing when clicking (left or right) to get that color added to the attributes palette of the file. What the heck am I doing wrong? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted November 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 13, 2014 Hi tad, I'm assuming you're on Mac OS 10.10? If so, You're not doing anything wrong. That's the system's color picker and it's currently not working with VW. Hopefully we'll see a fix for this soon as I rely on it often. Quote Link to comment
Damon Design
Thank you Matt- I thought I was completely loosing my mind. Trying to match a window mfr. color. T Quote Link to comment
bcd
Open the mac ColorSync utility to identify the source color and then manually enter those values in VW via the color sliders or directly. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted November 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 13, 2014 No problem Tad. bcd, Good suggestion. I usually do that in Photoshop, but the ColorSync Utility should load faster and every Mac user has it. Quote Link to comment

Thanks- should have thought of that. While not quite as convenient it gets me what I want. T Quote Link to comment
