Plant Symbol opacity independent of it's Tag

I want to reduce the opacity of a plant symbol while keeping the tag at 100%.

Is there a way to control the opacity of a Plant Symbol independent of it's Tag?

I tried putting the plant in one class and the tag in another, but that doesn't seem to work.

I think you would have to edit the opacity of the 2D geometry directly, rather than of the plant itself.

Alternatively, if the components within the plant are classed separately, you can just adjust the overall class opacity for the Plants-Component-Color Fills class, for instance, and get the effect you want for any geometry that was in one of those subclasses.

By editing overall opacity for the Plants-Component-Color Fills class affects all the other plants.

I think it would be great to be able to adjust the opacity just as you can edit the dimensions of each plant symbol separately.

Hi, everyone. 

To bring to life an old thread I found, has there been any recent developments on this front? 

I have tried editing the tag class to make the opacity independent of the plant symbol with no success. The tags opacity is still linked with the opacity of the plant symbol set individually with each plant.
