WhoCanDo
In VW12 (I think) we use to be able to move the text on a radius dimension but now we can't (currently VW2014). Can anyone tell me if they know of a way to move the text along the radius line since my center-line is not in the printing area and I still want to reference it by just shifting the text onto the page? Benson Shaw
Stupid Workaround: Make the text box longer by keying in a bunch of spaces in the OIP Leader Field eg in front of the R. -B Edited November 11, 2014 by Benson Shaw Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Or, (not so stupid) Use the outside radius mode to draw the dim outside the curve, then Mirror it on the tangent at the insertion point. The text displays properly even if Document pref for Adjust Flipped Text is disabled. Downsides: •When moving the mirrored dim, it follows the virtual mirror of the curve. •If curve changes radius, the mirrored dim is disconnected from the curve, and does not update value or follow to new position. -B Edited November 11, 2014 by Benson Shaw Quote Link to comment
WhoCanDo
Thanks Ben, There are not enough spaces in the prefix field to move it as far as I want too but the second idea may work. Anyone else with some ideas? I think I will add this to the wish list since I don't know why this is not a common problem for many people. Regards Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
The mirrored dim also responds to the text alignment options in the OIP. So can be aligned rather than on the shoulder. -B Quote Link to comment
