zoomer
To get the maximum accuracy when importing, I manually set the User Origin to an appropriate position, import DWG according to User Origin. So the imported Geometry sits near the Internal Origin and shows the correct coordinates. But when I export DWG again, the export looses the real coordinates and uses the coordinates from Internal Origin. This is not bad if I export C4D for visualization purposes, but shouldn't there be an option to export according to User Origin ? Quote Link to comment
0 Art V
Where are you setting the user origin, in the dwg file or in Vectorworks? Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
DWG is fixed, the way I get it. Drawing is about X=2000m Y=200m from Origin. So similar to recommended import where VW centers the drawing to Internal Origin and moves the User Origin so that the rulers show the correct coordinate values. I did it manually, set the User Origin first (X=-2000 Y=-200), import DWG to User Origin. So the Drawing sits on Paper Space and shows correct coordinate values. Just was wondering that VW does not use these coordinates when exporting. In this case no disadvantage as I usually have more problems in Cinema4D when far from origin than in CAD. To get the maximum accuracy when importing,
I manually set the User Origin to an appropriate position,

But when I export DWG again, the export looses the real
coordinates and uses the coordinates from Internal Origin.
This is not bad if I export C4D for visualization purposes,
but shouldn't there be an option to export according to
User Origin ?
