Josh Schulman
I am very confused about how to make a HDRI background. I know how to make an Image background but I really want to take a photo of the site I am working on and bring it into VW as an HDRI image. I've tried to follow the directions in the help file, but they are a bit obtuse. I am using VW2015 designer w/Renderworks installed. Any help would be great, thanks. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I think you have to do take the photos for the Panorama + take additional panorama shots with different shutter speeds. (I think this is possible by a mirror sphere also) The different exposures are needed to get the high range image. There are tutorials in the web and (free ?) software to create the final HDRI image from the source files. If you have a final HDRI it should be possible to include it to the background/lighting settings. Quote Link to comment
Haydenovative
Has anyone got a good work flow for achieving this, Ill tell you why I need it. I am drawing venue that sits in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, Id love to have as close to the real view out of the windows when it comes time to export Quicktime VR Panoramas. I've seen an external wall built around the perimeter and photos put of the four walls and it looks terrible, an HDRI with the image in it would be fantastic, any help would be muchly appreciated. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 6, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 6, 2014 I always pull them from pre-created libraries. It is possible to create them, though without specialized equipment its a bit tedious: Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Maybe it is possible to create a normal panorama from site photos and use simply a ready HDRI photo with similar light situation for illumination. Quote Link to comment
