Ungrouping Issue within Symbol

I am having an issue with grouping in symbols. Specifically, I have two groups nested within a symbol. When I exit "Edit Symbol" mode, the groups are intact. However, when I re-enter "Edit Symbol" mode, the groups have been automatically ungrouped. This happens consistently with this one particular file. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Normally I would suggest not using groups within groups or groups within symbols. They tend to slow a document down unnecessarily. Using symbols within symbols allows for the organizational benefit without the slowdowns.

However, does this not happen at all in a new test document with quick test symbols and groups? To my knowledge it is not supposed to automatically ungroup anything for you.

It looks like this is still an issue with the latest version of Vectorworks.  

Groups within certain symbols become ungrouped as soon as you exit the symbol.

The only workaround for this is to create a symbol within a symbol.
