Viewports name VS Viewports "Drawing Title"

Question

Can we please have an option to set a Viewports name AS THE SAME as the Viewports "Drawing Title".

We have to copy paste them as it's really confusing when section line instances option let's you only see the viewports name and not the Viewports "Drawing Title". So perhaps set the option in the dialogue box when you create section viewports.

This has always puzzled me. See screenshot.

Can't the "drawing title" & the "viewport name" be the same?

In vw2014 I have the bizarre situation where I have not renamed these viewports but ... the viewport name is "Viewport-21" and the drawing title default shows the same viewport called "Viewport-18" !

I have wished for this many times. It used to be that VW set a PDFs bookmarks using the viewport name instead of the drawing name. Not sure if its true in VW2015 as I haven't starting using it for projects yet. The drawing name should be the same as the viewport name or its confusing and a lot of extra work to keep them synced.

I agree that it would be a nice feature, but keep in mind that multiple viewports cannot have the same name, but they can have the same Drawing Title.

What Matt says is true. In my own workflow I'm very aware and try to keep all the drawing names unique. Ultimately if VW needs unique IDs behind the scenes that's fine, but they need to be hidden as they are in every other piece of software. I don't want to manage them myself.....

Viewport name SHOULD= "drawing label"."sheetlayer".$N where $N is a number indicating the first, second, etc. iteration of that name.
