John Whyte Posted September 4, 2014 Share Posted September 4, 2014 From time to time im getting an error when saving my file, somthing like "this opperation couldnt be completed due to a lack of memory", what ive now noticed is that when these messages come up im also getting a new file called my_file_namevwtmp.vwx any idea what the purpose of these are ? VincentCuclair Posted September 4, 2014 Share Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Yeah, one of VWs larger problems, hopefully a thing of the past in a couple of weeks with the new release. My solution to avoid loss of work is to simply cancel the warning dialog and choose Save As and then save the file with the same name to the same location and choose replace.... I usually just erase the temporary backup file (vwtmp.vwx). I then restart VWs to clear the memory. Edited September 4, 2014 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment

If your regular file is still working fine after a problem occurs, then you do not need to keep the TMP version unless you want it as a backup. Quote Link to comment
