Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted August 22, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 22, 2014 Check the names very carefully as they should not (can't) be identical. I suspect one has a leading or trailing space in the symbol name. Quote Link to comment
bc
Could you simply replace one symbol with the other? Right click on the object. In the resulting menu, can you scroll down to "replace"? Quote Link to comment
John Whyte
@bc, I tried right clicking but couldnt see the replace menu any ideas (please see 1st image below) (please note this isnt the same file, but has the same symbol issue) @klinzey - by the way i tried changing the name of the symbol, as you stated they were slightly different (trailing space) but when i changed them to the same it appends "-2" to the end of the symbol name Edited August 26, 2014 by John Whyte Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
John, There isn't a replace option in the Resource Browser. You would need to select the symbols in the drawing. The easiest way is to use the Magic Wand tool. If you double click on it you can set the options to just Symbol Name under other. Once they're selected you can click on the Replace button in the Object Info Palette to change them to something else. Kevin Quote Link to comment
