when creating a symbol, and giving it a name....say 150 watt spotlight

can i when placing the symbol on the drawing bring the description of the symbol into the drawing so it sits alongside the spotlight symbol.....whats the best way so the client can clearly see whats on the drawing file.....

any advice would be appreciated

If I understand correctly, I think what you want to do is edit the 2d component of the symbol and put your text there. I would create a new class for this text so that you can turn it off when you don't want it.

There's some way to list the symbols and insert their pictures into a worksheet. You would create a record of the symbol that you can enter your information into. So column one would be the picture, column two is the name, column 3 is the description. I think that would be the proper way to do it. But I'm not super savvy in worksheet. Someone around here is though...

i've just tried it with creating a report with symbols expecting when i add more symbols it lists it on the worksheet with quantities

doing something wrong will have to read up on this one could be good for my work

so worth investing some time and effort

The worksheet functionality is very weird IMO. But I think that's the way you want to go.
