Brendan Gray
Hello- I'm trying to mock-up real-world camera shots for a project. I can't seem to create a Renderworks Camera with a Field of View value that is less than 12.3 (degrees) no matter what I do. Is there a trick here? Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 19, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 19, 2014 Looks like that is the minimum, I'll submit a case to see why/if that was intended. Quote Link to comment
Brendan Gray
Thanks. A long lens (70X or 86X) video camera lens gets much narrower that that, especially when framing up a single presenter shot on a stage. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Gents - When working out a simple script to assign FOV values based on lens spec (probably, for the same reason Brendan is asking) I believe I was told that that is a limitation of Renderworks. I'm sorry; I can't seem to find the message thread. But...I have attached the script I use. Just select a Renderworks Camera object and run the script. You'll be asked for the lens spec. in mm. The Focal Length and Field of View will then get filled in. Edited June 24, 2014 by C. Andrew Dunning Quote Link to comment
