Patrick Fritsch
Can someone tell me how to disable the popup warning message on Windows 7, that warns me of spawning a program from an "unknown publisher"... @ Jim, And why the hell does NV not sign their program in the first place, just plain sloppy. 0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 13, 2014 We actually are signed. I do not see that on any of my Windows 8 or 7 machines here at all. Email the tech email with a screenshot of that error (expanded is possible) and this and they can have a look: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/627/DirectX+Diagnostics+and+System+Profiler Quote Link to comment
0 Patrick Fritsch
And I am logged in a admin as well, it's just that it's not signed Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 13, 2014 Some of the updaters are not signed so that we dont have to wait for the approval process, but it should never be happening every time for the main application, MAYBE when running the installer but not the application itself. Contact support with the info I mentioned. Quote Link to comment
0 Patrick Fritsch
I cannot take a screenshot of the message, as everything gets dimmed until I OK the popup? Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 13, 2014 Use Print Screen (Or PrntScrn on some keyboards) then paste it from the clipboard into Paint and you can then save the image. Quote Link to comment
0 Patrick Fritsch
Tried that, all is disabled until I OK popup? Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 13, 2014 Ahh gotcha just checked, its disabled when UAC is up all the way on 7. Take note of the full path and name it lists of the app on the popup and include that in your email to support. Quote Link to comment
0 Patrick Fritsch
Done, sorry but I've been trying to get rid of this for a while as it's driving me nuts...sort of like driving through a MacDonalds and they keep asking me if I want "fries with that", If I wanted some I'd ask! 0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 13, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) To get that to stop entirely on Windows you can turn off UAC for the time being, or simply set it to a lower level: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/turn-user-account-control-on-off#1TC=windows-7 Edited June 13, 2014 by JimW Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 17, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 17, 2014 Looks like this is in the pipe to be corrected across the board in updaters as well. Its half to do with the app and updaters being signed/unsigned and half to do with components related to OS firewalls. So this should also resolve most of the issues I've seen users have with firewall notices that keep popping up. Quote Link to comment
