Workaround for File Save /out of memory failure

It's the backup.

But, you say - the backup will not be current. You can read its timestamp in the file name. The workaround is to force or wait till the next backup.

This could probably be done by editing the VW>Preferences but I've found that I can preform a series of dummy operations until VW backups the file on schedule.

(e.g. create 40 rectangles)

VW always seems to have enough in reserve to create the backup.

Now I can safely force quit, restart and open the backup without data loss.

Change the Autosave preference to No. of operations from time and the Save problems will almost certainly go away. I use 50 operations.
