bc
I may soon hire on with an architect who runs a PC and I am on a Mac, VW 2014. I don't expect there to be any issues but just thought I'd question the board on this matter. Does anyone know of issues generated using the same file on different platforms? For example, let's say I finish a floor plan and email the file to him and suddenly all the doors are closed...or any such weirdness due to platform differences. I wouldn't think there would be problems since they are both reading a .vwx file but...? Anyone? Thanks, Bradley Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted May 21, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 21, 2014 As long as you are both using the same version (ie, Vectorworks 2014 SP3) you should not encounter problems. Files on occasion in general will have problems when emailed as a attachments, but thats nothing you need to address in Vectorworks. You can simply zip them before emailing if you are concerned and they will send safely: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/785/Compressing%2C+Zipping+and+Archiving+Files Quote Link to comment
IanH
If using referenced files, make sure paths are relative. But otherwise, I use to occasionally 360 files between PC and Mac and never encountered any issues. Quote Link to comment

Bob Holtzmann
If you give PC guy a USB drive with files on it, tell him to ignore those funny little finder files that Mac OSX makes. Quote Link to comment
