benormerod
I've just upgraded to 2014 from 2010 and I'm confused by the inventory counts. There seem to be two ways of entering the inventory information and they don't seem to relate to each other; either through the inventory setup in the Generate Paperwork dialogue, or the Lighting Inventory Setup (which is blank until I tediously enter each lantern in the Lighting Symbol Maintenance sheet first.) Do I have to fill in both of these with the same info? Quote Link to comment

I will do so and get back to you as soon as I can. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted May 21, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 21, 2014 Yes, There are currently 2 separate inventories. Inventory list and interface will be consolidated into a single list in the future. The reason the instrument symbols are not showing in the Inventory Setup is that you do not have a Light Info record attached to your symbols. The Lighting Symbol Maintenance command automatically attaches the record to the symbols and fills in the information. Without having the record attached you are going to run into a lot of other problems along the way. All the libraries that ship with Spotlight have the proper information attached. JBenghiat
If none of your symbols have the Light Info Record attached, you can use Tools>Records>Attach Record to attach the Light Info Record to all the symbols in a give folder (or the top level). You can then enter data in Lighting Symbol Maintenance, including to multiple selected symbols. -Josh Quote Link to comment
