Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted May 15, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 15, 2014 That sort of flowing shape is very difficult to make in Vectorworks. Multiple Loft Surfaces could be used for some portions but it may be more complicated to create it from scratch than to just import a premade one instead, depending on what you need to use it for: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=2ab68621945aa36f9a41ee40a079fcc6 Quote Link to comment
cad@sggsa
Thank you I need to do something similar to the photo attached. It will be a larger one so we can pull the sides more to the ground. Thank you for the link Will go see what I can find (not much there Found a marque tent under Bedouin as a search that might be able to work once edited, if I can.) michaelk
I've found that organic shapes like tents and drapes are not that difficult in VW. 3 techniques usually work. 1. Loft surface 2. Revolve w/ Rail 3. Extract surface This looks like a loft surface would work. hth mk Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
If it's a draped fabric you want, I would try making the under surface shape with solids, and then use the Model command "Create Drape Surface..". Quote Link to comment
