James Dawson Design
Hi, I have just started playing with customising and have tried to create a custom tool. I select the attributes to apply, enter a palette name, then a tool name. Say OK to all and expect to see the dialog/window to appear listing the tool. I don't see it and cannot figure out how to turn it on. The tool has been created as I repeated the process, saw the new palette name and couldn't create a tool of the same name. I am using VW2014 and osx mavericks. Thanks in advance. James Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I think you have to restart VW in order for it to recognize an entirely new tool. I sometimes keep a "dummy" tool installed in my workspace so if I want to try something quick it is already there. The same applies to Plug In Objects (PIOs) and Menu Commands. Once something is in the workspace you can edit it as much as you want, even completely replace the code and it will still work. Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
You should be able to turn the palette on by going to Window -Andy Quote Link to comment
James Dawson Design
Thanks for the help. I wasnt looking in Window>Script palettes....found them. It appears that when you create one for the first time it does not appear by default. I created a 2nd one at that appeared, found Script Palettes and there was the first one switched off. :-) Edited May 12, 2014 by jdldesign Quote Link to comment
James Dawson Design
On this topic, can I save the scripts I create to a default location? At the moment I have saved them to a template. Quote Link to comment
