Key To Instrumentation

Upgraded from VW 2011 to 2014 and the "key to instrumentation" command is gone. How the heck do you generate a key. I've found all sorts of lists and reports but no simple click and drop like in older versions.

There is a new "Instrument Summary" tool.

Much better than the old Key to Instrumentation.

It's not a menu command it's a tool.

Look for it in the Spotlight tool palette.

How do you edit fixture names? I like some of the new features, but I'd like more basic names. I've changed names of the symbol and in the Lighting Maintenance menu. Maybe we can get an in depth walk thru on one of the webinars one day.

The name information seems to come from the Model name. When I want to change the name for the "Key" I put the desired name into the model field from the instrument maintenance menu.

You can also put your instrument name into the type field and then automatically put the type name into the model field using the "copy all types to model name button".

Use the Lighting Symbol Maintenance menu command in the Spotlight>Reports menu to edit the default data.
