bosco
Hi all, I have a number of queries regarding the trim tool and it's efficiency, or lack of... Firstly, i cannot seem to find a way to specify a particular line to trim other lines to. Instead, the lines i select are trimmed at the nearest available line. Secondly, many lines simply delete altogether when I apply the trim tool to them. Thirdly, there doesn't seem to be any way to make a multiple selection of lines to be trimmed. Any suggestions, Bosco. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Are you using the tool or the command from the Tool menu? Quote Link to comment
bosco
Hi Katie, I am using the tool as there is no trim command in the pull-down menus that I can find- closest thing I see is the join command. Bosco. Quote Link to comment
Guest
The trim command is under the Tool menu. What version of VW are you using? Quote Link to comment
bosco
There is no trim command in the pull down menu in my version of vectorworks, i.e. Vectorworks 9.0.1. Bosco Quote Link to comment
Guest
That's why. Update to VW 9.5.1 or later and the trim tool/command will work correctly for you. Quote Link to comment
DZens
I also am having this problem in VW 10. The Trim Tool DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY(as described in the manuals or common logic. It currently trims line to the nearest line(s) regardless of what you have selected as you cutting objects. Please fix this!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
revbean
And not only does the trim tool trim to the nearest line (which is sometimes a useful feature), it will even trim to lines that are in a hidden class (which is nothing but a pain). Quote Link to comment
