MaskMan
What is the best way to create the exact type of window in the main room in "Rope"? Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Mask Man - Sorry no one gave this one a shot yet. You say "exact", but it's not clear how much detail you need. We really don't know the cross section of the steel frame elements, or hinge/lock config, or height of sill, or dims for any of the openings, depth of alcove, do you need the curtain, etc, etc. But basically, if you could derive a section of the alcove components, you can create an EAP to represent the vertical and arc frame. It looks like a heavier profile for the vertical portion than for the bowed frame above the header bar. That same path can be used to make the straight and bowed lights (glass panes) as either extrudes or lofts. The horizontal frame elements can be simple extrudes or EAPs. Post back if you are completely stuck. We will get you some modeling help and examples. -B Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I would do it by offsetting a rectangle in front view to get the frame and glass for the bottom frames. Clip and extrude. Then in a side view draw the arc profile. Use the offset tool again to make the glass and frame profiles. Extrude. Once you get one section, make a symbol and duplicate. Example attached. mk Quote Link to comment
MaskMan
Thanks gentleman, I will get to work on it and see if I run into any problems. Benson, sorry I should have been more specific. The dimensions were not really a concern it was more of a concern of how to make a curved window like the one in "Rope". Thanks again! Quote Link to comment
