attaching instrument to position

so I just started trying out VW 14 - using the light pipe tool for first time - created the pipe - in OIP set z to 18' - then the Light insertion tool to place light - I get a snap que - but the units refuse to snap to the pipe -

any ideas what I'm missing - seems like I did this fine in old versions when made own light pipe

Doug,

In order for the Lighting Device to detect the pipe, you still have to convert it to a Light Position Object - not unlike creating truss with the truss object.

If it didn't require being a Position object then you couldn't have any special functions for Positions.

You can put a light on anything or nothing. But then you can't get a position summary or have it auto number, etc..
