Bruce Kieffer
In Vectorworks 2014 is there a way to move the mirror tool origin point prior to committing to the mirrored results? It's great to now see a preview showing what the mirrored results will be, but if you click an incorrect origin point, then the value of the preview is nothing more than to show you you'll need to undo and start again. Kind of defeats the purpose of a preview. Quote Link to comment
ionw
Bruce, I usually hit escape. Should cancel the operation, then you can start again, rather than completing then hitting undo. HTH, Ion Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
I also found hitting the x key cancels the tool and takes you back to the pointer tool. These are work arounds, you should be able to change the origin point while in the tool. I will add this to the wish list. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 4, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) You can press the Delete or Backspace key to back up one step while still remaining in the tool. Similar to the polygon tool or wall tool, Delete will step one operation back in the series but not deactivate the tool. Edited October 4, 2013 by JimW Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Jim, That's the solution! Thanks. Cancel my wish list request. Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
I just found that pressing the esc key twice also backs you out so you can reposition the origin point. At least that's on the correct side of the keyboard for right handed folks. Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Looks like the 2014 SP1 update includes pressing the esc key (once) to reset the origin point. Edited October 16, 2013 by Bruce Kieffer Quote Link to comment
