I've been taking an online class about generating mathematical geometry in Cinema 4D. Tonight we learned about the continuity of curves. Ever wonder why the bezier curves in Illustrator and Vectorworks are never quite as beautiful as you'd like. Its because they have tangent continuity. As a comparison, the curves of Baroque ornament have curvature continuity. Someone has come up with an improved curve tool which I wish Vectorworks had. Check it out - http://tucsonlabs.com/using-spiro-splines-in-inkscape/
I can't count how many times I've tried to create an existing piece of architectural ornament and can't get my Vectorworks curves to match.....
