Solution to avoid Sheet Layer objects being accidentally turned off

Question

VW needs a technical solution to avoid Sheet Layer objects been accidentally turned off. That is when an object on a Sheet Layer has been assigned a Class and is then inadvertently turned off.

Experienced users won't run into this problem but I've found it's a common mistake for inexperienced users to make.

Although it can be put down to inexperience I think more of the blame lies with a poorly designed interface. Do we really need to be able to control visibility of objects on Sheet Layers with Classes? And if people do rely on this shouldn't there be a more explicit way of controlling object visibility on Sheet Layers?

The rule NV interface designers probably need to follow is that any object visibility control on Sheet Layers should only take place when the user can directly see and interact with any given Sheet Layer. It shouldn't happen in the background unbeknown to the user.

Am I right in thinking somebody and already put a solution for this on the wishlist? How do other CAD apps like ArchiCAD work in this regard?

why not have it that when something is created on a sheet layer using a class it automatically creates a sub class with a prefix such as 'SL - ' or something similar
